“Abstract layers” is not just a firm; it’s an expression of an ideology. As the boundaries between art and architecture continue to blur; an increasingly rich and vital dialogue between the two disciplines begins to emerge. Here we follow these investigations into our designs; reinterpreting them as we go along.

The folding, wrapping and draping of a garment can be translated into the realm of architecture; the colors of a painting can flow into the shell of a structure; landscape can form a metaphor for enclosure over structural skin; the story of a film-maker can unfold in various architectural frames. Conceptualizing designs, experiencing spaces, styling parallels can be drawn between art and architecture.

Here at abstract layers we have attempted to create a forum for individuals wanting to explore this relationship. We do work as a firm, as an attempt to create a physical manifestation of our ideas.

“Our work captures the stark contrast between traditional impressions and contemporary ideas in design.
We interpret ageless concepts into fresh design solutions reflecting a progressive society.”
